Spillway Group Area is a 10-acre day-use facility along the shores of Rend Lake, surrounded by oak, hickory, and maple woodlands. Built to accommodate large outdoor events, the site features a 250-capacity shelter with electricity and lighting, an open-air amphitheater, a small gazebo, a swingset, picnic tables, flush toilets, and drinking water. The property provides direct access to the paved 20-mile Rend Lake Bike Trail, with nearby entry to public boat launches, fishing spots, and public swimming beaches along the lake.
Getting there: From I-57: Take take exit 71 and turn west onto Highway 14. After 3 miles turn right on Rend City Road, then right on Rend Lake Dam Road. Continue 3 miles to the park entrance on the left.
