South Marcum Campground occupies the southeastern shoreline of Rend Lake in southern Illinois, set among oak, hickory, and maple forests. The facility offers 158 reservable campsites with electric hookups on non-tent sites, hot showers, flush toilets, drinking water, a dump station, and a playground. Campers have direct access to the paved 20-mile Rend Lake Bike Trail, which winds along the lake and Big Muddy River. The adjacent day-use area provides a public boat ramp, while nearby lake attractions include swimming beaches, a 3D archery course, and a dog park.

Getting there: From I-57 take exit 71 and turn west onto Highway 14. After 3 miles turn right on Rend City Road, then right on Rend Lake Dam Rd. Continue 3 miles to the park entrance on the left.
