Johnson Bar Group Site rests in a large, open field along the Selway River within the Nez Perce National Forest. The accessible site fits up to 100 people with space for tents and RVs, offering a campfire circle, smaller fire rings, picnic tables, drinking water, and adjacent vault toilets. Individual first-come, first-served campsites sit on both sides of the group area. Visitors come for fly fishing for cutthroat and rainbow trout, whitewater rafting, and beach and boat access. Nearby trails off Selway River Road lead into the Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness, and Fenn Ranger Station is close by.

The road in has not been measured -- unknown, not bad.

Hot Point stands 2,395 ft above the site, 2.0 miles west. Selway River runs 0.1 mi off. A group campground. The nearest town, Kamiah, is 24 mi off.
