Setting
Fish Creek Group Camp, also called Eagle's Nest, is a flat dispersed site set beneath tall pines in the Nez Perce National Forest. This primitive, horse-friendly loop accommodates up to 75 people, roughly five campers, and 20 vehicles. On-site facilities include two vault toilets, picnic tables, and rock fire rings. Nearby, the seven-mile multi-use Fish Creek Cross Country Trail caters to hikers, mountain bikers, horseback riders, and off-road vehicles. The surrounding landscape stretches from the Salmon River canyon to the Gospel-Hump Wilderness, with supplies available in Grangeville.
Getting there: Drive 8 miles south of Grangeville, Idaho on the Grangeville Salmon Road (Forest Road 221). Drive past the Fish Creek Campground and take the first right onto Forest Road 2000. Drive about 1/2 mile and take the second left (Look for the Campground Sign).
