Setting
Big Springs Warming Hut sits among lodgepole pines in Island Park, 22 miles south of West Yellowstone. The facility features an enclosed building holding up to 200 people, equipped with concrete flooring, picnic tables, a wood-burning stove, lighting, and electrical outlets. Outside, there are picnic tables, grills, a fire ring, a vault toilet, a large parking lot, and 20-amp RV hookups. There is no drinking water on site. Visitors come to paddle or tube the Big Springs National Recreation Water Trail, fly-fish Henry's Fork, or access the nearby historic John Sack Cabin.
Getting there: From West Yellowstone, Montana, travel 22 miles south on Highway 20 to Mack's Inn. Turn east on Big Springs Loop Road and travel 2 miles to the warming hut access road. Turn south into the warming hut parking area.
