Setting
Big Springs Group Area sits at 6,300 feet in a lodgepole pine clearing near the headwaters of Henry's Fork in Island Park. The single accessible group site accommodates up to 40 people with gravel spurs, tent pads, picnic tables, a grill, and a campfire circle. Amenities include accessible vault toilets, drinking water, trash service, and optional 30-amp electrical hookups. The campground provides direct entry to the 4.5-mile Big Springs National Recreation Water Trail, a calm float down to Macks Inn favored for paddling, tubing, and trout fishing.
Getting there: From West Yellowstone, Montana, travel 22 miles south on Highway 20 to Mack's Inn. Turn east on Big Springs Loop Road and travel 4.5 miles to the campground.
