Big Trinity Cabin sits in a dense lodgepole pine forest at 7,900 feet elevation near the East Fork Roaring River and Trinity Mountain. The single rustic cabin sleeps six with a double bed, sofa bed, kitchen tables, wood stove, cookware, and tableware. Outside, guests have access to a picnic table, campfire ring, hand-pump drinking water, stacked firewood with cutting tools, and a vault toilet. Set among four subalpine lakes, the site offers access to canoeing, kayaking, and trout fishing, while the adjacent 4-mile Rainbow Basin Trail leads to nearby lakes and hiking areas.

Road difficulty 3 of 5 -- a rough drive in. Recorded as maintained for passenger cars, dirt, pitching to 14%, 50% of it on a shelf.

The Little Trinity Lake shoreline is 0.2 mi off. Trinity Mountain stands 1,554 ft above the site, 2.1 miles south. Cabins and shelters rather than pads -- most of them shaded. The nearest town, Robie Creek, is 29 mi off.

September normals 3762°F, 1.1″ rain. Monthly averages, PRISM 1991–2020.
