Campground details
Setting
Lake Cleveland Campground rests at 8,300 feet in an alpine lake basin below Mount Harrison. The East Side loop provides 17 campsites geared for larger RVs, seven of which are reservable, while the West Side loop offers nine tight, tent-only sites. Non-motorized boating, swimming, and fishing are allowed on the lake. Two miles away, Mount Harrison features a fire lookout tower, and the nearby Pomerelle ski area provides mountain bike trails. Equestrian facilities are available two miles away at Twin Lakes Campground.
Getting there: From Interstate 84, take exit 216 and follow State Highway 77 south approximately 18 miles, through the towns of Declo and Albion, to Howell Canyon Road. Turn west at the Pomerelle Ski Area sign and drive up the canyon on Howell Canyon Road another 7 miles. The road is steep and winding. Look for an entrance sign on your right. Use caution with travel trailers and RVs, as not all campground loops are suitable for trailer turnarounds.
- Limited separation from through roads or other sites here, an 8-site campground with the nearest through road 0.1 miles off.
- The Lake Cleveland shoreline is 0.1 mi off.
- Mount Harrison stands 988 ft above the map pin, 1.1 miles southwest.
- Most of them shaded.
