Perched at 6,414 feet on a cinder block base, this 15x15 fire lookout cabin overlooks Lake Pend Oreille and the Selkirk Mountains. The basic shelter contains minimal furnishings including a sleeping platform, table, and cabinet. There is no water, heat, electricity, or cooking equipment, requiring guests to pack in all sleeping pads, drinking water, and camping essentials. A modern vault toilet sits 300 feet away at the trailhead. The Pend Oreille Divide Trail #67 begins directly below the lookout, providing access to ridge hiking, horseback riding, and mountain biking.

Getting there: From Sandpoint take Hwy 200 east 12 miles to Trestle Creek Road; turn left onto Trestle Creek Road #275 and go 12 miles to Lunch Peak Road #1091; turn left onto Road 1091 and go 4 miles to the lookout.
