Setting
Located at 6,400 feet along the Big Wood River, Wood River Group Overnight Area sits inside a campground shaded by Douglas fir, ponderosa pine, lodgepole pine, and aspens. The facility features one reservable group site for up to 40 overnight campers, along with an adjacent paved loop of 30 single-family tent and RV sites. Amenities include drinking water, flush toilets, and a lighted outdoor amphitheater. The site offers direct access to river float tubing and trout fishing, a short nature trail to a beaver pond, and immediate connections to the 20-mile Harriman Trail.
Getting there: From Ketchum, take Highway 75 north for 10 miles. Turn at the Wood River Campground sign. Stay on the main campground road for a short distance until you reach the group area parking lot on the right side of the road.
