Setting
Alturas Lake Inlet Campground sits on the shore of Alturas Lake along Alturas Creek, shaded by mixed conifers at the base of the Sawtooth Mountains. The site features gravel roads and single-family campsites, some offering direct lake or creek views. Amenities include vault toilets and drinking water. An adjacent day-use area includes a designated swimming beach, and the Smokey Bear Boat Ramp is located less than a quarter-mile away. Boating, kayaking, and fishing for bull trout occur on the lake, with the 10-mile Alpine Meadows Trail starting nearby.
Getting there: From Highway 75, turn onto Forest Road 205/Alturas Lake Road. Travel approximately 3 miles to the campground.
