Emigration Campground is located off State Highway 36 in Emigration Canyon, set within a forest of pine, spruce, and aspen. The main paved loop features 20 single-family sites, three double sites, and a group site, serviced by flush toilets and drinking water. Group Site 3 sits 1.5 miles west on gravel roads, offering a picnic shelter, small amphitheater, vault toilets, and drinking water. The Highline National Recreation Trail runs adjacent to the campground.
All 0.7 miles in are maintained for passenger-car comfort. Paved the whole way in (0.7 miles).
Crowded here -- the nearest through road is 0.1 miles off, a 26-site campground. Most of them shaded. Emigration Spring lies 0.6 mi off. Sherman Peak stands 2,488 ft above the site, 6.6 miles north. The nearest town, Montpelier, is 13 mi off.
