Cold Springs Campground is set in an open meadow of ponderosa pines and fir trees at an elevation of 5,000 feet, just ten miles from New Meadows, Idaho. The campground features gravel roads, vault toilets, drinking water, single and double family sites, and two large group sites. It has no hookups or trash receptacles. Located three-quarters of a mile from Lost Valley Reservoir, campers have easy access to boating, canoeing, fishing, and birdwatching at the Lost Creek Interpretive Site, with a public boat ramp located on the reservoir's southeast shore.
