Setting
Willis Knob Horse Campground is an equestrian facility tucked in the wooded canyons of the northern Georgia mountains near the Chattooga River. The campground features single, double, and group sites for tents and RVs. Every horse site includes electric and water hookups, picnic tables, lantern posts, campfire rings, and access to vault toilets, drinking water, hitching highlines, and a manure trailer. The 15-mile Willis Knob Trail and 12.5-mile Rocky Gap Trail originate directly from the camp, with the Chattooga River Trail located nearby for foot travel.
Getting there: From Clayton, Georgia, take Warwoman Road east for about 12 miles. Turn right on Willis Knob Road (Forest Service Road 157) and continue for 2 miles to the campground on the left. The physical address for the horse campground is 1922 Willis Knob Road, Clayton, GA 30525
