Setting
Located at 2,080 feet in the Chattahoochee National Forest, this year-round campground features 17 sites set along the banks of the Tallulah River. Each site includes a picnic table, fire ring, and lantern post, with illuminated vault toilets and drinking water spigots on site. Two riverfront day-use picnic areas sit on the grounds. The Coleman River Trailhead begins 0.03 miles up the road, while the Beech Creek and Buck Creek trailheads sit nearby in the Southern Nantahala Wilderness. Rabun Bald, Georgia's second-highest peak, sits a short drive away.
Getting there: Take U.S. 76 west from Clayton for 8 miles; turn right (north) on Persimmon Road for 5 miles; turn left (northwest) on Tallulah River Road (Forest Service Road 70) for 1 mile to the campground entrance.
