Setting
Nestled along Low Gap Creek in the Chattahoochee National Forest near the Mark Trail Wilderness, this 13-site campground offers a primitive setting with basic amenities. Each campsite includes a picnic table, fire ring, and lantern post. On-site facilities feature a seasonal hand-pump well for drinking water, bear-resistant trash receptacles, and one chemical vault toilet across the creek bridge. Trout fishing is available directly in Low Gap Creek and the adjacent Chattahoochee River headwaters. The Appalachian Trail, Dukes Creek Falls, and Raven Cliff Falls sit nearby.
Getting there: From Helen, Georgia go North on Hwy 75 North, turn left on 75 Alt cross the bridge, and make the immediate right turn onto Poplar Stump/Upper Chattahoochee River Road. Continue on this road for approximately 4.5 miles and the campground is straight ahead.
