Woodring Branch Campground sits in the Blue Ridge Mountain foothills along the heavily wooded shoreline of Carters Lake. The park offers lake-view campsites with electric hookups, flush toilets, hot showers, drinking water, a playground, a dump station, a swimming area, and two boat ramps. Trailheads inside the facility grant access to the 3.5-mile Amadahy loop trail and the Oak Ridge Nature Trail. The surrounding 3,200-acre reservoir features 62 miles of undeveloped shoreline suitable for powerboating, canoeing, and fishing.

Getting there: From Atlanta, take I-75 north to Exit 293; follow Highway 411 north. Turn right on Highway 136, then left on old Highway 411. Turn right on Highway 282/76. Campground is located 4.5 miles off Highway 282.
