All 7.5 miles in are maintained only for high-clearance vehicles. Gravel the whole way in (7.5 miles). Climbs 2,100 ft over 7.5 miles -- sustained grades near 18%, with pitches to 32%. Stretches run along a shelf with a drop of up to ~130 ft on the downhill side. Little level ground alongside -- few of the stretches measured have a flat spot to pull onto. Winds through 11 switchbacks. Water crossings 1.4, 1.9, 3.2 and 5.2 miles in.
Rich Mountain stands 1,146 ft above the site, 1.1 miles northwest. Private here -- the nearest through road is 1.4 miles off. Fall Branch runs 0.7 mi off. The nearest town, Blue Ridge, is 5.9 mi off.
