Sawnee Campground is situated on the shores of Lake Sidney Lanier just north of Buford Dam in the Georgia Blue Ridge foothills. The facility features 43 RV sites with water and electric hookups, 5 walk-in tent sites with hookups, and 11 primitive walk-in sites. Amenities include bathhouses, laundry facilities, a playground, a sandy swimming beach, and a boat ramp. The 38,000-acre reservoir offers open water for wakeboarding, kayaking, and motorboating, as well as fishing. Scenic views of the dam are available at the nearby Westbank Overlook, with hiking trails at Sawnee Mountain Preserve.
