Setting
The Pocket Campground is a 26-site forested loop tucked in a valley between Horn and Mill mountains in the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest. Campsites fit up to 28-foot trailers and feature paved spurs, gravel tent pads, picnic tables, fire rings, and lantern posts, with flush toilets and hydrants on site (no electricity or hookups). An adjacent day-use area offers a CCC-built spring box on Spring Branch creek, a reservable shelter, and access to the 1.5-mile Interpretive Trail and 2.5-mile Pocket Loop. Johns Creek trout fishing and the Johns Mountain Overlook are minutes away.
Getting there: From I-75, take exit 320 (LaFayette/Resaca) west on Georgia Highway 136 for approximately 14 miles. Turn left onto Pocket Road for approximately 7 miles. The recreation area will be on the left.
