Thompson Creek Park is located on the northern reaches of Lake Lanier, about 30 miles north of Buford Dam in the Georgia Blue Ridge foothills. This day-use park provides lakeside picnic areas and restrooms. Visitors can swim, kayak, wakeboard, and fish for bass, catfish, and panfish in the lake's open waters. The site also connects to the 3.5-mile Laurel Ridge Hiking Trail loop, offering views of the lake and Chattahoochee River. Additional public boat ramps and lake parks are nearby.
