Mitchell Landing Campground in FL -- Campground & RV Camping in Florida

Mitchell Landing Campground is a primitive year-round facility in Big Cypress National Preserve, located along the Loop Road scenic drive. It offers 12 campsites with grass or gravel pads that accommodate tents, RVs, and travel trailers. Each site includes a picnic table and fire ring, with vault toilets and shared food storage available on site. There is no drinking water. Positioned within the Stairstep backcountry unit, it offers direct access to the preserve's only designated airboat trails for visitors with off-road vehicle permits, as well as nearby hiking and fishing.

Getting there: From Naples follow US HWY 41 to Loop Road, Mile marker 40. The east entrance to Loop Road will offer easier access to larger vehicles. Follow Loop Road approximately seven miles and turn left into the campground. From Miami follow US HWY 41 to Loop Road, Mile marker 40.
