Mill Dam Group Campground sits under live oak trees on the shore of 168-acre Mill Dam Lake in Ocala National Forest. Functioning as a day-use area in spring and summer, it opens for overnight group tent camping up to 150 people during late fall and winter. The site features a large picnic shelter, group grills, picnic tables, flush toilets, a swimming beach, and a parking lot capacity of 70 vehicles. A separate entrance adjoins a public boat ramp for canoes, kayaks, and motorboats.

Getting there: Mill Dam is located just off of Highway 40, approximately 15 miles east of Silver Springs, Florida, and 50 miles west of Ormond Beach. From 40, look for the Mill Dam/Half Moon signs about a quarter-mile from the recreational area turnoffs.
