WP Franklin South Recreation Area is a day-use facility along the Caloosahatchee River, located right by the WP Franklin Lock and Dam on the Okeechobee Waterway. On-site facilities include a visitor center, boat ramp, volleyball and horseshoe courts, playground, flush toilets, drinking water, and covered picnic sites. Two reservable group shelters offer electricity, water, picnic tables, and large charcoal grills. Visitors can launch boats, kayak, or fish for freshwater and saltwater species. Lee County Manatee Park and Hickeys Creek Mitigation Park sit just miles away.
