Setting
Ocean Pond Campground sits on the northern shore of a 2-mile-wide lake in Osceola National Forest, surrounded by pine flatwoods and cypress wetlands. The site offers 64 campsites, including an Electric Section with 30- and 50-amp hookups and potable water, a Water Section with spigots, and a Primitive Section without hookups. Bathhouses provide flush toilets and hot showers. Amenities include a boat ramp, a swim beach, a picnic pavilion with a BBQ grill, a playground, and an RV dump station. The Florida National Scenic Trail passes the entrance road, and fishing and boating are popular.
Getting there: From Lake City, Florida, head east on US Hwy 90 for approximately 14 miles. Turn left (north) on CR 250/FR 266 and drive approximately 4 miles. Turn left onto FR 268 (campground entrance road). Follow FR 268 for approximately 1.1 miles until you reach the entrance to the campground.
