Windy Point Group in CO
U.S. Forest Service allows overnight stays only at the designated sites here.
Located in the White River National Forest at 9,000 feet, Windy Point sits on the shore of Dillon Reservoir. Pine beetle mitigation has cleared hazard trees, leaving little shade across the site. Facilities are built for groups and split into two reservation loops, Lake Loop and Forest Loop, both offering hardened gravel sites for tents, trailers, and RVs with drinking water spigots but no hookups. Lake Loop features a 2,600-square-foot pavilion, large grills, tables, a fire pit, and vault toilets. Summit County's paved trail system and the Old Dillon Reservoir Trail run right through.
