Setting
Matterhorn Cabin is an 1,800-square-foot, modern timber facility set 15 miles from Telluride. The cabin sleeps 12 or more across five bedrooms and an upstairs room, featuring electricity, a furnace, woodstove, washer/dryer, two full bathrooms with showers, and a fully equipped kitchen. Outside, the front porch faces 13,188-foot Sheep Mountain. Situated right off the highway, the cabin provides direct access to 10 kilometers of groomed cross-country ski trails, with the Telluride Ski Area, Lizard Head Wilderness, and snowmobile routes at Alta Lakes a short drive away.
Getting there: From Telluride, drive 3 miles west on the State Hwy 145 Spur. At the roundabout, turn left onto Hwy 145 and proceed south for approximately 10 miles. Turn left at the Matterhorn Cabin sign into the cabin parking area (300 yards past the Matterhorn Campground).
