Stretches run along a shelf with a drop of up to ~130 ft on the downhill side. Winds through 20 switchbacks. Dead-end road -- no mapped turnaround; expect to back out or unhitch. Cattle guards 7.8, 12 and 20.1 miles in.
Secluded here -- the nearest through road is 2.8 miles off. Sheep Mountain stands 1,512 ft above the site, 2.5 miles north. Tuttle Creek runs 0.6 mi off. The nearest town, Salida, is 26 mi off.
