Setting
A 1,641-acre park 17 miles south of Steamboat Springs centered on a 771-acre reservoir formed by Stagecoach Dam on the Yampa River. The landscape transitions from montane shrubland at higher elevations to riparian wetlands around the reservoir. A marina and boat launch provide water access for boating and fishing. Camping and picnic sites dot the park, with 8 miles of hiking trails exploring varied terrain. Wildlife includes elk, mule deer, coyotes, red foxes, and badgers in their natural habitat.
