Campground details
Setting
Seedhouse Group Site sits at 8,000 feet in Routt National Forest near the Elk River and Mount Zirkel Wilderness. The facility hosts groups up to 100 people across eight primitive tent sites, featuring picnic tables, campfire rings, food storage lockers, and a 20-person picnic shelter. A hand-pump well supplies water, and trash receptacles are on site. A connector trail offers quick access to the Continental Divide National Scenic Trail, while nearby public lands provide routes for hiking, biking, off-highway vehicle riding, and trout fishing in the adjacent river.
Getting there: Take US Highway 40 to County Road 129 north on the west side of Steamboat Springs. Continue for 16 miles, through the town of Clark and across the Elk River, and turn right on County Road 64/Seedhouse Road. Proceed approximately 7.5 miles and look for Seedhouse Campground on the right. Continue past the campground and turn right to access the Seedhouse Group Sites.
