A 39.1-mile stretch of graded dirt National Forest road in Rio Grande County, CO. The road is open seasonally, May 16 to March 14.

Rio Grande National Forest, Divide Ranger District allows dispersed camping here -- 14-day limit in any 30 days. Camp at least 150 ft from water.

11.8 of the 39.1 miles in are maintained only for high-clearance vehicles. Mostly graded dirt, with 11.9 miles of dirt. Stretches run along a shelf with a drop of up to ~140 ft on the downhill side. Winds through 30 switchbacks. Dead-ends 2.9 miles in -- mapped turnaround at the end. Cattle guards 2.1 and 24.8 miles in.

Grouse Mountain stands 1,701 ft above the site, 1.5 miles east. A river runs 0.1 mi off. A well-travelled stretch -- travellers have camped along here. Exposed here -- the nearest through road is 0.1 miles off. The nearest town, Del Norte, is 21 mi off.
