All 13.9 miles in are maintained for passenger cars. Mostly gravel, with 6.6 miles of graded dirt. Stretches run along a shelf with a drop of up to ~140 ft on the downhill side. Winds through 11 switchbacks. Dead-end road -- no mapped turnaround; expect to back out or unhitch.
Beaver Mountain stands 2,975 ft above the site, 2.8 miles east. A body of water lies 0.8 mi off. Travellers have camped along here. The nearest town, Del Norte, is 18 mi off.
