Setting
Dearhamer Campground sits at 7,800 feet in White River National Forest, positioned along the Fryingpan River just above Ruedi Reservoir. The site features 13 standard, non-electric campsites accommodating tents, trailers, and RVs up to 35 feet, with vault toilets and drinking water provided. Downstream from the dam, the river offers fly fishing in designated Gold Medal Waters. Ruedi Reservoir supports motorized boating, swimming, and water skiing, while the 8-mile Ruedi Trail begins near the boat ramp and climbs over 3,000 vertical feet to the summit of Red Table Mountain.
Getting there: From Basalt, travel east on Frying Pan River Road for approximately 20 miles, just past Ruedi Reservoir to Dearhamer Campground.
