Setting
Timberline Campground sits at 9,700 feet along Hoosier Creek near Kenosha Pass. Campsites are split into two loops separated by a rise, set among aspen, spruce, and lodgepole pine. Facilities include dirt and gravel roads, parking spurs, picnic tables, campfire rings, grills, and two vault toilets. No drinking water is available on-site, though firewood can be bought at nearby Kenosha Pass Campground. The 471-mile Colorado Trail passes within one mile for hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding. Nearby Fairplay features historical buildings at the South Park City Museum.
Getting there: From Denver, Colorado, take Highway 285 southwest to Park County Rd. 58. Turn right at County Rd. 58 and follow road to Forest Road 125. Turn right and follow road about 0.5 miles to the campground entrance.
