Cove Campground is a primitive, four-site camping area set along the South Platte River in Eleven Mile Canyon. Nestled against gray granite cliffs near Eleven Mile Reservoir, the site provides basic amenities including picnic tables, campfire rings, vault toilets, and hand-pumped drinking water. Campers use the park as a base for fly fishing for rainbow, brown, and cutthroat trout, rock climbing canyon walls, bird watching for nesting golden eagles, and hiking the nearby Overlook Trail.

Road difficulty 2 of 5 -- a moderate drive in. Recorded as maintained for passenger cars, dirt, pitching to 6%. Flat ground is scarce -- under a tenth of the terrain within a few hundred yards is level.

South Fork of the South Platte River runs 0.1 mi off. Exposed here -- the nearest through road is 0.1 miles off, a 4-site campground. Most of them shaded. Night skies measure Bortle 3 -- a dark rural sky. Saddle Mountain stands 2,244 ft above the site, 5.5 miles south. The nearest town, Cripple Creek, is 19 mi off.

September normals 4169°F, 1.3″ rain. Monthly averages, PRISM 1991–2020.
