Pa-Co-Chu-Puk section (opened 1994) features montane shrublands and riparian ecosystems in 3,300-acre Ridgway State Park within the Uncompahgre River Valley, framed by San Juan Mountain views. The park centers on a 1,000-acre reservoir with 15.6 miles of trails, accessible campsites with showers, visitor center, four-lane boat ramp, and swim beach. Volcanic geology shaped the terrain millions of years ago.
