Setting
House Creek Campground on McPhee Reservoir in San Juan National Forest features 22 campsites in three loops (12 reservable, 1 group, 2 picnic areas). Composting toilets and potable water available. Sites $32/night (electric +$11), group sites $125/night. Open May through September. Four-lane boat ramp for motorized and non-motorized boating, plus fishing. RVs up to 50 feet. Maximum 8 people per site; dogs must be leashed. Quiet hours 10pm–6am.
Getting there: From Colorado Highway 145, turn at 11th Street, continue on Country Road 31, which becomes Forest Road 526 at the Forest Boundary. Continue 6 miles and turn left at Forest Road 528. The road dead-ends at the complex.
