Deerlodge Park Campground in CO -- Campground & RV Camping in Colorado

Deerlodge Park Campground sits in a flat, open area under cottonwood trees along the Yampa River at the head of Yampa Canyon. Located in Dinosaur National Monument next to a boat ramp, it serves as the launch point for multi-day float trips down the Yampa. The primitive facility features seven walk-in tent sites furnished with picnic tables and fire rings. Seasonal drinking water spigots and vault toilets are on site, but no hookups or showers exist. The area is subject to flooding when river flows exceed 18,000 cfs, and winter access is restricted by snow.

Getting there: To reach Deerlodge Park Campground, drive west from Craig, Colorado 59 miles (95 km) or east of Dinosaur, Colorado 51 miles (95 km) on Highway 40. At the Dinosaur National Monument sign turn north on to Deerlodge Road (or labeled Dinosaur Park Service Rd on some maps) and drive 17 miles.
