Winds through 17 switchbacks. Dead-end road -- no mapped turnaround; expect to back out or unhitch. A cattle guard 3.4 miles in.
Heart Mountain stands 1,609 ft above the site, 0.8 miles west. A well-travelled stretch -- travellers have camped along here. Exposed here -- the nearest through road is 0.1 miles off. Pass Creek Lake lies 0.7 mi off. The nearest town, Pagosa Springs, is 23 mi off.
