Palisade Campground sits directly on the Rio Grande River in a canyon between Creede and South Fork in Rio Grande National Forest, at 8,300 feet. Twelve sites with picnic tables. Handicapped-accessible vault toilet; potable water available summer season only (Memorial Day to Labor Day). Active railroad tracks bisect the campground; Highway 149 runs along one side. First-come, first-served with 14-day limit. Fishing, boating, backpacking, and hiking available. Camp host present during summer.
