Big Meadows Campground sits on a mountainside above Big Meadows Reservoir in the San Juan Mountains, 11 miles west of South Fork, Colorado. Lightly wooded with spruce and surrounded by wild aspens, the campground features loop trails with sites equipped with picnic tables and campfire rings, plus drinking water access. Anglers cast for rainbow, brown, and brook trout from an accessible fishing pier on the reservoir's north shore, where a boat ramp is also located. The 6-mile Archuleta Trail starts nearby, providing access into the adjacent Weminuche Wilderness.
