Setting
Moose Manor is a 1930s Forest Service ranger station set among aspens and spruces at 9,500 feet in Grand Mesa National Forest. The electrified cabin features a living area with couches and fireplace, a kitchen with an electric stove and refrigerator, a flush toilet, and a shower. Sleeping options include a queen sofa sleeper, four twin beds, and space for additional cots. Outside, a large grassy lawn sits near Sunset Lake, Jumbo Reservoir, and Mesa Creek. A carry-down boat ramp and the West Bench Trail #501 are within walking distance.
Getting there: From Grand Junction, CO, take I-70 east for 13 miles. Take exit 49 to Highway 65 South toward Grand Mesa. Continue for 25 miles and turn right into Mesa Lakes Recreation Area.
