Setting
West Lake Campground sits at 8,200 feet in a ponderosa pine forest on the edge of 25-acre West Lake, 48 miles northwest of Fort Collins near the village of Red Feather Lakes. The facility offers 31 campsites with electric hookups and five tent-only sites without hookups. Each site features a tent pad, picnic table, and campfire ring with grill, supported by vault toilets and drinking water. Non-motorized boating and trout fishing are popular on the no-wake lake, while local routes like the 1.5-mile West Lake Trail and 4-mile Mount Margaret Trail provide hiking access.
Getting there: From Fort Collins, take Highway 287 north approximately 24 miles to Livermore. Turn west on County Road 74 and continue 24 miles to the campground.
