Kelsey Campground sits at 7,400 feet in Pike National Forest, an hour southwest of Denver. It features 17 single-family sites with 30-foot parking spurs suitable for tents, trailers, and RVs. Each site has a table, fire ring, and grill, with shared vault toilets, trash collection, and a drinking water hand pump on site. Nearby Buffalo Creek provides brook trout fishing. A 40-mile trail system serves hikers, mountain bikers, and horseback riders, with the Little Scraggy, Shinglemill, Colorado, and Buffalo Burn trails accessible nearby.
The road in has not been measured -- unknown, not bad. Flat ground is scarce -- under a tenth of the terrain within a few hundred yards is level.
Little Scraggy Peak stands 875 ft above the site, 0.5 miles west. Exposed here -- the nearest through road is 0.6 miles off, a 17-site campground. A lake lies 1.1 mi off. Night skies measure Bortle 3 -- a dark rural sky. The nearest town, Roxborough Park, is 14 mi off.
