State Forest State Park spans 70,838 acres across Jackson County's Medicine Bow Range near Walden. Lodgepole pine, Douglas fir, Colorado blue spruce, and aspen forests support over 600 moose alongside bighorn sheep, black bears, mule deer, and elk. The park features 187 campsites with picnic areas, boat ramp, and 94 miles of hiking trails. Established in 1970, it's Colorado's premier moose-viewing destination.
