State Forest State Park spans 70,838 acres across Jackson and Larimer counties in Colorado's Medicine Bow Range east of Walden. The park features 187 campsites plus 60+ dispersed sites, cabins, and yurts, along with 94 miles of hiking trails through lodgepole pine, Douglas fir, Colorado blue spruce, and aspen forests. Known as Colorado's moose capital, the park hosts over 600 moose year-round along with bighorn sheep, black bears, mule deer, and elk. Multiple reservoirs support boating, with facilities including a visitor center, picnic areas, and boat ramps.
