State Forest State Park is a 70,932-acre mountain park near Walden offering 228 campsites across multiple campground areas. The park features jagged peaks and alpine lakes surrounded by forest. Amenities include two boat ramps on North Michigan Reservoir for fishing and boating, 136 miles of trails for hiking and mountain biking, and a visitor center. Wildlife viewing includes moose, deer, river otters, and migratory birds. Picnic facilities and a park bookstore are available.
