River Hill Campground sits at an elevation of 9,200 feet in a shaded meadow surrounded by willows on the banks of the Rio Grande River. Facilities include well water, vault toilets, garbage cans, campfire rings, and periodic weekend educational programs. The river provides opportunities for trout fishing and kayaking, while the nearby Rio Grande Reservoir is located a few miles away. Directly across the river, the Squaw Creek and Weminuche Creek trailheads provide entry into the Weminuche Wilderness and connect to the Continental Divide National Scenic Trail.
