Located 14 miles southwest of Lake City at 9,500 feet, this campground sits along the Lake Fork of the Gunnison River in a mixed spruce, fir, and aspen forest. Its 22 sites fit tents and medium RVs, equipped with picnic tables, fire rings with grates, and bear-proof food boxes. Amenities include hand pumps for drinking water, vault toilets, dumpsters, and river fishing trails. Nearby access to the Alpine Loop OHV route and 14,000-foot peak trails makes this a popular base camp.
