Setting
Located on the treeless, sagebrush-covered north shore of Blue Mesa Reservoir at 7,540 feet elevation, Stevens Creek Campground is the easternmost camping facility in Curecanti National Recreation Area. The 53-site campground includes waterfront spots, picnic areas, and drinking water available from late May to mid-September. It features direct reservoir access for stand-up paddleboarding, canoeing, and waterfowl watching. Upstream, hikers can explore the 1.5-mile Neversink Trail along the Gunnison River, while mountain bike trails sit just south at Hartman Rocks.
Getting there: Stevens Creek campground is located off of US Hwy 50, 12 miles (19 km) west of Gunnison, CO.
